(More customer reviews)We were so disappointed. A "real metal cowboy gun" was the one & only thing my son wanted for Christams. It was all anyone heard about for 3 months. I looked everywhere for a die-cast pistol...every toy store & major chain super store in the area, even EBay...and found nothing except the cheap plastic ones. I finally found this one through Amazon & got really excited, there were 2 good reviews and it claimed to be real die-cast. The box even claims it is die-cast. Well guess what folks, it's not. It is the flimsy cheap "chromed plastic" gun that was carried by every chain store in the Midwest. The compartment for the caps is the only part of this gun that is metal, the rest is junk. Christmas day my son dropped the gun on our wood floor & the barrell cracked. The silver paint flakes off daily. That is, the paint that hasn't already worn off just from being handled. He was so disappointed which broke our hearts. This is the only thing he talked about for 3 months, and he was expecting Santa to pull through. I explained to him that Santa must have thought it was a real metal cowboy gun because it said so right on the box. He still plays with it, but each time he has it in his hands he inspects the crack, crazing & areas with thin or missing paint and even though he doesn't voice his complaint you can see the disappointment on his face. We're trying to find the right toy gun for Easter, so if anyone finds an ACTUAL quality die-cast metal gun please let me know.
