(More customer reviews)This coat is a blessing for those who like to horseback ride in cold weather. The split seam in the back allows fabric to cover your legs down to the ankles when astride. The waxed cotton fabric shields you from wind and keeps you dry when it rains.
It is a large garment to wear while riding so getting used to the feel of it will take a while, but the first time I rode it in 38 degree weather (with some wind) I was NOT cold (!) Since I am petite, I bought the smallest size and it still felt like I was riding in a lot of fabric, but with the protection it provided from the wind, I was more than happy to work with that feeling. Wearing a wool sweater and cotton turtleneck underneath (plus winter riding boots, etc) I was the warmest I've been in a long time during cold days. Well worth the money to add to your riding clothing collection.
