(More customer reviews)First impressive thing -- I ordered the hat on a Friday night and received it the following Tuesday night! Fast shipping! The hat came in a great-looking hat box that holds the hat upside down (the recommended way to store a hat) and with grooves on the sides to let the brim lay correctly. The hat fit very well -- just a little tight, but I need a haircut, the hat is still brand-new and a little slick inside, and it still needs to be broken in a little. I wore it in and out of the house carrying stuff in from the car -- in a 15-20 mile an hour wind -- and it didn't even offer to fly off. It has a cloth inner hat band -- my preference -- and should be great for both comfort and absorbing sweat.
My wife thought the hat looked super sexy -- and of course, me while wearing it -- and that's worth quite a bit! :-)
The brim is a little longer in the front and back than it is to the side. That, together with the classy-looking hat band, makes this hat look more like the "Indiana Jones" hat than any that I have seen so far -- and is perfect for Texas weather that is cold while still bright and sunny. This hat is good for wearing formally or for work and is sort of between a cowboy hat and a "Bogart" snap-brim. To me, a cowboy hat (yes, even here in Texas) is too big, too stiff, and just hard to keep up with -- and most fedoras have too narrow of a brim for keeping the sun off. This hat is perfectly in the middle -- wide enough brim for the sun and soft enough to put down in places that would ruin a stiff cowboy hat.
I bought the hat in black, but I am going to order a brown one and a gray one as soon as I can.
Great hat, at a great price, with great shipping. Sounds like 5-star to me.
